Locata progresses to new G-Cloud 10
Keeping costs down as an official Crown Commercial Service supplier on the Digital Marketplace
The latest version of the G-Cloud framework has been launched offering the very latest cloud technology and digital support to organisations across the public sector.
The new G-Cloud 10 services became available on the Digital Marketplace from Monday 2 July 2018.
Locata was once again successful in applying to join the latest G-Cloud framework.

This means that we continue to be an official Crown Commercial Service supplier and our products and services can be bought by local authorities through the Digital Marketplace without needing to go through a full tender process.
G-Cloud 10 is run as a collaboration between the Government Digital Service and the Crown Commercial Service and is operated through the Digital Marketplace.
New versions of the G-Cloud framework are launched every six to nine months in order to refresh services and open the market up to new suppliers.
“It is the 10th iteration of the G-Cloud framework, which launched in 2012,” says a blog from the Government Digital Service. “So far, nearly £3 billion has been spent through the G-Cloud framework, with 48% of that spend going to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)”.
Public sector organisations buy services through the Digital Marketplace and save time and money as the process is faster and cheaper than entering into individual procurement contracts.
An independent review showed that average efficiency savings of 50% could be made through the use of G-Cloud. These savings came from:
- Buying products and services at lower prices
- Lowering the barriers to work with more SMEs
- A quicker buying process: reducing costs for the buyer
- Being agile – buying what you need, when you need it
